Of the over 30 apple varieties grown in South Africa, we are the oldest, dating back to late 1700s. Other popular varieties include Red and Golden Delicious, McIntosh, and Granny Smith. But to give consumers a larger assortment of this popular fruit, researchers are always testing for new varieties.
When shipped in 40" reefer containers, apples pack are palletised 56 cartons per pallet and stowed with 21 pallets to give a total standard load of 1,176 cartons per container.
